Suleymaniye Mosque majestic architectural style

The Suleymaniye Mosque is characterized by the presence of four minarets, and this feature is due to the will of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent, who was the fourth in the series of sultans of the Ottoman Empire after the conquest of Istanbul and the minarets are famous for having ten chevrons that reflect the rank of Sultan Suleiman X among the sultans of the Ottoman Empire.

Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent's desire was to build a luxurious mosque, so he commissioned one of the most famous architects of Islamic architecture, Sinan Pasha, with the task of designing it and the construction of the mosque and its surrounding complex began in 1550 AD and was completed in 1557 AD.

Sinan Pasha prepared maps, designs, ideas and models, and presented them to the Sultan, who admired and approved them and the sultan was very generous in supporting the project and gave permission to implement it unconditionally, and Sinan Pasha declared, "This mosque is my greatest achievement", and the area of the mosque and the compound that surrounds it is thirty seven dunums.
